Inspired by the hyper-realistic paintings of the 15th century Flemish and Dutch masters, Laurie created her graphic technique by imitating the art of such great artists as Hans Memling and Albrecht Dürer.

Lori Lipton was born in New York. She started drawing at the age of 4. All you need to work is charcoal, a simple pencil and paper. Her parents were proud of Lori Lipton’s art, they supported her, considering her a little genius. Although not all of her entourage gave due attention to creativity. Being a kind little child, her paintings looked cruel, sinister and “dark” against her background.

Themes for works come exclusively in words, namely in words, in fragments of phrases, in sentences. She always carries a notebook to write down thoughts and phrases that will later be reborn on paper.

Not everyone likes Lori Lipton’s painting. She knows it. Dark themes do not always find their audience.
