Photos Without Borders

Nation­al Geo­graph­ic Trav­el­er mag­a­zine report­ed receiv­ing near­ly 12,000 pho­tographs from 6,615 tal­ent­ed pho­tog­ra­phers around the world for the 24th annu­al trav­el pho­tog­ra­phy com­pe­ti­tion. Pho­tos are like music: they are indi­vid­ual, they evoke dif­fer­ent emo­tions in dif­fer­ent peo­ple. It was very dif­fi­cult to choose the win­ners of the com­pe­ti­tion. The pho­tographs were divid­ed into 4 cat­e­gories: per­cep­tion of the area, out­door scenes, trav­el por­traits and imme­di­ate moments. Unfor­tu­nate­ly, it will not be pos­si­ble to view all 12,000 amaz­ing pho­tos, but some of them will appear before you in this col­lec­tion. Enjoy great footage.

Fam­i­ly Time: One of the out­door scenes in the Nation­al Geo­graph­ic Trav­el Pho­to Con­test.

Ancient For­est. Near the city of Moron­de­va, on the West Coast of Mada­gas­car, there is an ancient for­est of baob­a­bs. Some of the trees here are over a thou­sand years old. This spir­i­tu­al place is almost mag­i­cal.

Trav­el por­trait. Dur­ing the East­er holy cel­e­bra­tion called Mis­teri in Tra­pani, devo­tees car­ry scenes of Christ’s pas­sion on their shoul­ders all night, and take a break in the morn­ing.

Bagan Bliss: Per­cep­tion of the place. More than 2,000 Bud­dhist tem­ples and pago­das fill the plains of Bagan. Farm­ers now raise live­stock in this area.
